The Centre for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning (CETL)

The Centre for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning (CETL) is a high-profile central unit in the University under the Office of the Vice-President and Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Teaching and Learning) and plays a key role in supporting the implementation of University policies in relation to teaching and learning.  It provides academic leadership and professional support in the areas of curriculum innovation, enhancement and quality assurance, and faculty professional development. CETL has established a strong track record of active engagement with Faculties and across key international networks. The Position

Applications are invited for appointment as Senior Lecturer in the Centre for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning (CETL) (Ref.: 508135), to commence as soon as possible on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal. 

Applicants should possess:

  1. a doctoral degree in Education/Higher Education or a relevant discipline;
  2. strong credentials and demonstrated academic leadership capabilities in an outcomes-based approach to student learning including:
  • a track record of innovative teaching and contribution to course design and curriculum development within a discipline;
  • demonstrated experience in leading curriculum and staff development initiatives and contributing to the enhancement of student learning in higher education;
  • experience in conducting and publishing high quality field-based research related to higher education; and
  • demonstrated interest and expertise in informal learning and mentoring with a strong commitment to knowledge exchange/community engagement.

The appointee will join CETL’s vibrant team in supporting the University’s mission as Asia’s Global University. Reporting to the Director of CETL, he/she will be expected to provide support for academic staff development in various forms, including delivering seminars, workshops and courses; advising Faculties on curriculum, and teaching and learning innovation; and engaging in special projects on teaching and learning in higher education conducted by the Centre. He/She will be expected to have attained an Advance HE Fellowship commensurate with his/her teaching experience.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.  Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
