The Institute of Advanced Automotive Propulsion Systems (IAAPS) at the University of Bath is recruiting a Research Assistant/Research Associate to support research work for the Advanced Propulsion Centre/Innovate UK funded project.
This is a great opportunity for a Power Electronic Engineer to work on the topic of powertrain electrification in UK’s leading automotive powertrain research group. The project is being conducted in collaboration with the top tier industry partners to deliver a multi-level converter design for high voltage powertrain of Heavy-duty Vehicle. You will be a central member of the team, focussing on research, simulation, hardware design and embedded control of electric drives and power electronic converters. The successful candidate will be expected to assist in the delivery of the project work packages, undertaking the research activity under the guidance of the principal investigator.
We expect applicants to possess a suitable degree in relevant subject area and have research experience. Successful applicants will be capable, and willing to carry out work in the following areas:
IAAPS is a leading centre for theoretical, experimental and analytical research into powertrain systems in the UK. IAAPS has an excellent track record in delivering industry-relevant projects, and has long established collaborations with industrial partners. The Centre considers its remit to be all of the links in the chain from energy storage to its conversion into mechanical work on board a vehicle.
There is one position available which is full time (36.5 hours per week) and is being offered on a fixed term contract basis for an expected duration of 12 months.
