UEA is committed to widening access and participation of students from underrepresented groups into Higher Education. The role of Lecturer in Medicine and Widening Participation Academic Officer will be based in the Norwich Medical School and the post holder will be involved in the teaching of the Medicine Gateway degree course and act as a champion for Widening Participation in the School and Faculty.
Alongside teaching, the majority (equivalent to 0.8FTE) of the role will be involved in the development and delivery of initiatives to enhance widening participation activity across the student lifecycle within the Norwich Medical School.
On a day-to-day basis, the role holder will be line managed by the Director of Medicine Gateway Programme, but will also report to the Widening Participation management team; the Academic Director of Inclusive Education, the Head of Outreach and the Assistant Head of Planning (Widening Participation and Business Intelligence). The Widening Participation management team are responsible for all strategy and evaluation of the University’s Widening Participation approach across the student lifecycle.
