Are you interested in working for a World Top 100 University?
The Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering (EEE) has an exciting opportunity for someone to develop their academic career. We seek a committed and hard-working lecturer to, nominally, provide cover for a colleague’s secondment with the possibility of developing their own teaching and research portfolio. The successful candidate will have a passion for electrical machines and drives (with a good honours degree, a post-graduate qualification, or relevant experience), ideally with an appreciation of manufacturing aspects, and bring strong communication and organisational skills to the role. Having a proven background in delivering high-quality innovation in a relevant research area you will be expected to successfully develop and lead research projects and teams.
Much of the student-facing teaching activity will be delivered in our state-of-the-art, £86m Diamond building and award-winning Heartspace development.
Having an excellent track-record of academic leadership, or a willingness to develop these attributes, and strong communication skills you will foster effective relationships at all levels.
EEE is a thriving department within one of the UKs top engineering faculties. Our research awards have totalled over £53m in the last five years with £7m recently being invested in new research equipment. The Electrical Machines and Drives Group (EMD) is a world leader in electrical machines, power electronics, controls, and energy conversion and storage systems research.
The post is fixed term to the 31st July 2023 with potential to be extended further.
We particularly welcome applications from under-represented groups including women and people from a BAME background.
We’re one of the best not-for-profit organisations to work for in the UK. The University’s Total Reward Package includes a competitive salary, a generous Pension Scheme and annual leave entitlement, as well as access to a range of learning and development courses to support your personal and professional development.
We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles from across the world, whose talent and contributions complement each other to greatest effect. We believe diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact through research, teaching and student experience.
