Fixed Term Contract for 2 years

At the heart of the University of Warwick campus, we have industry-leading facilities where academics, researchers, scientists and engineers collaborate with partners to drive innovation and shape the future.

You will work in the Automation Systems Group and wider Digital Technologies Directorate at WMG engaging in HVM Catapult and other projects within a portfolio of R&D activity. As a Principal Engineer you will provide broad-ranging technical leadership enabling WMG to have tangible and demonstrable impact on UK productivity and the sustainability agenda through the deployment of industrial digital technologies. The role will involve:

  • Developing capability and bringing clarity to WMG's expression of its expertise in the domain of digital manufacturing solutions development.
  • Working with industry to understand digitalisation adoption challenges and opportunities from technological and business perspectives.
  • Identifying opportunities for industrial projects and working with clients to capture requirements and generate proposals.
  • Serving as a technical lead in WMG projects ensuring high-quality output that exceeds customer requirements, on time and on budget.
  • Establishing formal project delivery processes.

You will have a suitable degree together with specific expertise and experience related to automation systems and digitalisation in a manufacturing context. Relevant masters and doctorate level qualifications would be advantageous.
