The role

Due to exceptionally strong recruitment to our undergraduate programmes, the School of Geographical Sciences at the University of Bristol is seeking to appoint Lecturers in Geography at either Grade J or Grade K (depending on experience). We welcome applications from any sub-field of Geography and allied disciplines.

You will help deliver the School’s teaching across our undergraduate programmes.

The School of Geographical Sciences is committed to efforts to decolonise the curriculum, transforming our research and teaching as part of these efforts. You will be joining the School at an important time in our history and we especially welcome applicants interested in supporting this work.

What will you be doing?

The Lecturer in Geography appointments are Pathway 3 positions with expectations that you contribute to the delivery of our undergraduate programmes as well as project and dissertation supervision and field trips. You will also provide personal tutor support for students and support the activities of the School in an administrative role.

You should apply if

For the Lecture Grade J role you will have completed your PhD or be near completion and you have demonstrated the capacity for excellence in scholarship, teaching, and administration appropriate to your career stage.
For the Lecturer Grade K role you will be an individual with experience of unit delivery and development at degree level. You will be able to demonstrate the aptitude to lead a teaching unit, including management of a small teaching team and design of content and assessment

Please include in your cover letter whether you are applying for the grade J or grade K appointment.
