Join us and be part of an ambitious new expansion of the School of Biological Sciences.
Our School takes pride in research that spans microbiology, virology, immunology, glycobiology, structural biology, neuroscience, developmental biology, ecology, evolution, plants and food security with a growing portfolio in systems biology and complex data analytics. We host the prestigious National Biofilms Innovation Centre, state-of-the-art facilities, the BBSRC SoCoBio Doctoral Training Programme (DTP) and are integral to the Institute for Life Sciences which fosters interdisciplinary research. We deliver fantastic education and consistently lead the Russell Group Universities for student satisfaction (1st 2019, 2nd 2020, 2nd 2021). We have close alliances with the Schools of Ocean and Earth Sciences, Psychology, Health Sciences, Geography and Environmental Sciences, Chemistry and the National Oceanography Centre Southampton and with the Faculty of Medicine including the newly established Centre for Cancer Immunology.
As part of a series of a series of 11 new appointments to enhance our research and our research-led education we are making two appointments. Examples of suitable specialities include, but are not restricted to, microbiology, plant sciences, developmental biology, neurobiology, molecular pharmacology, microbiology, immunology, infection biology, virology and glycobiology.
