KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership, management and personal development

  • To motivate ISC progression and welfare support staff to contribute to ensuring the best possible student outcomes and student experience.
  • Contribute to developing, communicating and enacting the strategy and priorities for the ISC, by providing data and reports to the Assistant Director, Student Experience.
  • Provide effective performance management of direct reports, including setting personal objectives and KPIs; regularly reviewing performance of direct reports; and conducting formal performance reviews according to company policy and procedures.
  • Facilitate, encourage and support staff to participate in regular personal development activity.
  • Recruit new staff as required according to Study Group policies and procedures.

Academic Support, Welfare Support and Attendance

  • Plan and manage the delivery of progression support to maximise the number of students automatically progressing whilst ensuring the best possible student experience and achievement.
  • Oversee the attendance coordinator, together with the Student Services Manager, regarding interventions of Stage 1, Stage 2 and 3 liaising with Assistant Director of Student Experience and Centre Director.
  • Oversee RPAG (progress reports) are followed up on with mentors and ensure intervention from mentors is carried out with students who are at risk of not automatically progressing.
  • Input regarding students who require reasonable adjustments to the Assistant Director of Student experience for further referral where needed.

Quality Assurance and Student Voice

  • Take a strategic approach to analysing data and feedback from a wide variety of sources to monitor progress towards progression targets, planning and implementing remedial actions where necessary Contribute to governance committees and groups as agreed with the Centre Director.
  • Contribute to the production of the Annual Monitoring Report, Centre Action Plan, and other evaluative and reflective documents, for submission to the Study Group (Provider) and the University
  • Formalise and organise Student Rep training, ensuring student reps are available for key activities throughout the year, e.g. QAEG, Network Student Council, PAMRE
  • Ensure effective interaction with Subject Heads when organising Student Council and Follow Up Meetings and ensure coordinators record and complete actions in Tracker 
  • Work with Centre Management Team to organise Student Experience Meeting which link into the Centre action Plan

Partnership and Transition

  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with key progression and transition contacts at the University, ensuring a full understanding of relevant academic support policies and services, and quality policies and procedures.
  • Ensure effective interaction with Subject Heads to facilitate the best possible transition for students, support Subject Heads in organising university activities, faculty fairs, transition events, guest lectures and workshops for student development.

Welcome Week, Enhancement Week and Social Activities

  • Ensure effective interaction with Subject Heads when organising Enhancement Week, Welcome Week and ongoing induction events, oversee communications and invites with university partners to include Support Services, Partnership Tutors and progressed students

General Duties

  • To support the Assistant Director of Student Experience with tasks related to the effective running of the ISC in relation to Student Experience.

EXPERIENCE

  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent with relevant experience)- desirable
  • Accredited coaching/counselling qualification is preferred and/or management training and experience.
  • Strong IT and data management skills including competency in Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Word, and a willingness to learn and adopt new technologies.
  • Ability to extract, manipulate and analyses data for reporting to aid decision making.
