About the department

OCR (Oxford Cambridge and RSA Examinations) is a leading UK exam board, dedicated to recognising achievement in learners of all ages and from all backgrounds. The range of qualifications from OCR is wide and varied and there are choices for learners of all ages, abilities and needs. Over 13,000 schools, colleges, workplaces and other institutions use our A Levels, GCSEs and vocational qualifications.

What will your day-to-day look like?

  • A passion for your subject, and the ability to be an ambassador for it with schools, the regulator and stakeholders at all levels
  • Providing high quality and knowledgeable customer service and supporting schools and teachers to deliver our qualifications
  • Providing subject input into the development and revision of qualifications
  • Growing OCR's business through the provision of insight, partnerships and stakeholder engagement
  • Quality assurance of subject content developed by external subject experts and training of assessors


The following will make you successful

  • Recent teaching experience and/or recent relevant work within the context of secondary education
  • Excellent subject expertise, especially in Engineering qualifications, and the ability to discuss subject issues at high level with a range of stakeholders
  • An understanding of qualification delivery and assessment within your subject area
  • The ability to communicate clearly and persuasively to a range of audiences
  • The necessary behaviours required to build successful partnerships and relationships
  • Experience of successfully delivering projects on time
  • A can-do attitude and strong problem-solving skills
