About the role 

An opportunity has arisen in the Department of Society, Crime and Environment for a full-time, permanent Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Forensic Toxicology. We are interested in people passionate about their subject area and whose enthusiasm can inspire our students. A strong candidate for the position would be capable of teaching at the interface of chemistry and biology, utilising an understanding of pharmacokinetics, drug development and the physiological interactions that drugs of abuse promote. The candidate will be aware of current trends and issues related to drugs of abuse. Further experience in the use of computational modelling from a toxicological or biological perspective would be advantageous.

The successful candidate will join an outstanding, collegiate Forensics team that delivers the BSc (Hons) Forensic Science, BSc (Hons) Forensic Investigation, MSc Forensic Science, and MSc Digital Forensic Investigation. Teaching is delivered through both face-to-face and online means. You will possess a PhD in Forensic Science or in a cognate discipline. You will have experience of teaching and learning in Higher Education, including through VLEs. You will have experience of, or show willingness to take part in, the team’s activities, including recruitment, outreach and maintenance of the team’s social media profile. You will be able to demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, be a good team player, and be flexible and adaptable to change.
