We are now looking for a Senior Lecturer in Education to join the Institute of Education and Humanities in Swansea or Carmarthen.


As a Senior Lecturer in Education, you will be tasked with overseeing education study programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

Taking responsibility for teaching, assessment, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of the programme, you will seek to enhance the student experience through exceptional teaching, instruction and postgraduate supervision.

You will also be part of scholarship, research, training and project work whilst seeking funding opportunities and making a positive contribution to the day-to-day activities of the Institute.


To be considered as a Senior Lecturer in Education, you will need:

  • Evidence of a contribution to education research theory and practice
  • Knowledge of, and engagement with, the school and community education sector in Wales
  • Broad experience in delivering via innovative teaching methods, assessment and student support at undergraduate and postgraduate level, including supervision at postgraduate level with a willingness to teach by video-link, VLE, e-mail or website delivery
  • Evidence of undertaking a significant administrative role or position within an Academic Discipline, Institute or University
  • Evidence of the design, development and implementation of curriculum content across a range of modules or programmes of study
  • An honours degree and a higher-level postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline
  • A teaching qualification


Annual leave entitlement is 35 days’ annual leave per year (pro rata), plus 8 bank holidays and 4 University closure days (pro rata)
