The role:
An exciting opportunity has become available to work full-time on a 22-month Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP). The project aims to increase growth through investigating the generation of a type of stem cell from cancer specific immune cells, to isolate rarer cell populations from cancers, develop a treatment with enhanced activity, and potentially develop this as a treatment that can be used to treat many patients.

Company information:
Instil Bio specialises in developing adoptive cell therapies for cancer. They have been manufacturing tumour infiltrating lymphocyte (TIL) therapies as a personalised treatment for metastatic melanoma, achieving a successful response rate and a number of 'cures'. The aim is to develop TIL therapy for melanoma and other solid cancers.

Qualifications we require:
Currently holding, or expecting to hold shortly, a PhD in a Stem Cell or Molecular Biology area of expertise.

Application requirements:
Candidates must have the following:

  • Experience of iPSC reprogramming.
  • Experience of stem cell culture and differentiation.
  • Molecular characterisation of cells.
  • Practical experience of RNA sequencing.
  • Experience of large RNA-seq data analysis and interpretation.
  • Knowledge of T-cells and T-cell therapies.
  • Excellent tissue culture practice.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to thoroughly document and evaluate data.


  • £2,000 per year to spend on personal training.
  • Attendance at two residential managerial workshops (each of one week's duration).
  • Opportunity of a permanent position with the company; 70% of host companies make a permanent job offer to their Associate at the end of the project.
