Manchester Metropolitan has a strong national and international reputation in the area of Childhood, Youth and Education Studies. The School of Childhood, Youth and Education Studies teaches undergraduate programmes in Education, Early Years and Childhood, and Education Psychology, as well as a range of post graduate programmes, including a Masters in Inclusive Education.
The School of Childhood Youth and Education Studies is friendly, supportive and collegiate environment with a strong commitment to widening participation and student focused teaching. The School is seeking to appoint a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer to its team. The faculty provides an exceptionally rich academic teaching and research culture with a wide variety of study groups thriving on staff and students' passion for education. There are strong links with ESRI (see: http://www.esri.mmu.ac.uk/resgroups/index.php) and many staff members have published widely and enjoy considerable reputations in their fields.
About the role
The lecturer/senior lecturer will support teaching, learning and research in the School of Childhood, Youth and Education Studies. This position may teach into CYES undergraduate programmes in Education Psychology, Education and Masters' programmes (especially inclusive education). This role includes support for students, including planning and assessment for learning, as well as pastoral support. It may also involve visits to students on placements in range of childhood settings.
The job requires experience of teaching on Higher Education courses related to Education Studies benchmarks and the ability to act as a personal tutor for undergraduate students.
