You will be assigned to the Centre for Preclinical Imaging and will be responsible for the management and day-to-day running of the imaging facility that includes; Bruker 9.4 T MRI Scanner, Multi-Spectral Optoacoustic Tomography (MSOT, iThera Medical), fluorescence/bioluminescence imaging (IVIS Spectrum, Perkin-Elmer), high frequency ultrasound scanner (S-Sharp), PET/SPECT/CT (Molecubes) and a high resolution µCT scanner (Perkin-Elmer).
The post requires involvement in all aspects of the various collaborative studies, including experimental design, choice of imaging strategies, execution of imaging studies, analysis and interpretation of the results, presentation of data for intermediary reports and publications, as well as providing training and support to users. The postholder will also be involved with the development, assessment, validation and/or standardisation of new imaging technologies and their reliable exploitation to answer biomedical questions. You will also be required to manage the administration for the Centre and engage with a wide variety of users and stakeholders. This includes IT Services, Facilities, Residential and Commercial Services (FRCS), the academic institutes within the Faculty, and the facilities and administration within Liverpool Shared Research Facilities (LIV-SRF) and the wider Directorate. A key aspect of the role will be to develop a communications strategy to raise awareness of the Centre among a diverse group of stakeholders.
