The University is looking to appoint an exceptional colleague as Deputy Head of Education Services (Student Support, Access and Wellbeing) following a significant review of student mental health services in Cambridge. Reporting to the Head of Education Services, this new role will oversee the University Counselling Service (UCS), the Disability Resource Centre (DRC), and a new Student Wellbeing Team. Alongside the broader team, you shall be responsible for pioneering significant change across the University of Cambridge and setting high ambitions for student welfare and support.

You will be working in close partnership with key stakeholders across the Colleges, central University, students' union, local NHS partners and beyond to drive improvement and cohesion across all student welfare and wellbeing activity and will be a trusted partner for all in establishing cross-University policy and strategy. A key priority will be to develop and deliver a clear strategy and model for student wellbeing following on from the recent strategic review. You will identify opportunities for strategic innovation and service improvement and will empower your teams to operate and achieve at a high level. You will represent the University externally and seek to ensure Cambridge delivers sector-leading student welfare provision.

You will join us with significant experience of leading within a complex environment, ideally within the Higher Education sector. You will have experience of partnering with a broad range of stakeholders to introduce and embed strategic change. Familiar with best practice in terms of student welfare and support, you will have experience of leading broad and high-achieving teams. You will also be able to demonstrate exceptional relationship-building, influencing and diplomacy skills. Having a flexible, resilient, and collegiate approach will be critical to your success in this role.
