This is an opportunity to contribute to several Degree Apprenticeship Programmes within the School of Engineering and the Environment. The key responsibilities include supporting the professional development of the apprentices by conducting tripartite progress reviews both in person, in the workplace and on-line or by telephone, building productive relationships with both apprentices and employers and identifying any emerging issues, including safeguarding issues, at an early stage, providing interventions where required.
You will work across the School’s Degree Apprenticeship provision, with an initial focus on BEng Civil & Infrastructure Engineering, BSc Building Surveying and BSc Quantity Surveying qualifications within the Department of Civil Engineering, Surveying and Construction Management.
You will act as the main point of contact for apprentices and employers, providing information, advice and guidance, coaching and support. You will monitor progress against the apprenticeship standard and prepare apprentices for End Point Assessment. You will maintain strong employer relationships, ensuring apprentices make excellent progress in their professional skills development in the workplace and employers support the fulfilment of competences against the apprenticeship standard.
You will come to us with a first degree in relevant subjects within built environment or equivalent at 2.1 or above together with an equivalent professional qualification. You will demonstrate a sound understanding of the apprenticeship standard and bring experience of working with the professional institutions such as Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) and/or Royal Institutions of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
