Assistant/ Associate/ Full Professor in Intercultural Communication and Management

In response to its continuous growth, IÉSEG School of Management invites applications for one full-time permanent position (starting September 2022) in Intercultural Communication/Management at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level (Lille  Campus). The selected candidate will be a part of the Department of “People, Organizations and Negotiation”.

The department consists of around 30 full-time academic staff who teach and perform research in the areas of Human Resources Management, Organization Studies, Organizational Behavior, Negotiation, Mediation and Conflict Management. Our diverse body of permanent professors have recently published articles in international peer-reviewed journals such as Organization Studies, Journal of Management, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Negotiation and Conflict Management Research, International Journal of Conflict Management, Journal of Management Studies, Human Resource Management (Journal), Human Relations, Research Policy, Industrial Relations, Journal of Business Research, European Management Review, Human Resource Management Review, Journal of Business Ethics, and many others.


ICIE (IÉSEG Center for Intercultural Engagement) is one of IÉSEG’s centers of excellence. Founded in 2017, ICIE brings together academics, instructors and staff from different departments who wish to collaborate and exchange practices regarding intercultural dynamics in business and the development of intercultural competence.

We are looking for applicants who are willing to contribute to the school’s continuous development of its particular approach to intercultural communication and the development of Cultural Intelligence (CQ) at all levels of the institution through teaching, training and research.

He/she will be involved in the different activities of the Intercultural Track that has been created with the objective of consolidating and further developing the existing elements and evaluating their effectiveness at the school level. These activities are related to teaching students, training staff, and research. The candidate is expected to have a major role in implementing these activities with the existing team, and monitoring their effectiveness.

Applicants should possess a PhD related to the field of Intercultural Communication, Intercultural Management. Applicants are expected to provide evidence of strong teaching skills and/or professional experience. He/she will teach at undergraduate, graduate and/or postgraduate levels as well as be involved with staff development training. Importantly, applicants should embody the values of the school and be team players

Applicants are also expected to show evidence of strong research potential (e.g. publications in top international journals), preferably in the area of Cultural Intelligence (CQ) and cultural competence.  Applicants for the position of Assistant Professor are expected to have the potential to secure publications in top-tier refereed journals in the near future. For appointment at the Associate or Full Professor level, however, applicants are required to have (a) extensive higher education teaching experience; (b) a strong publication record in top-tier refereed journals; and (c) good networks in academia and/or professional circles at regional and international levels. 

Finally, applicants should be completely fluent in English as all courses will be taught in this language. Prior knowledge of French is not required as the School will provide French courses to faculty members.
