Working as part of the Facilities team, you will support the Laboratory and Facilities Manager with the purchasing function in the department. As the purchasing key contact, you will provide departmental staff with advice on purchasing procedures and ensure compliance with the University Financial Regulations.
Your duties will also include receipt of goods and checking deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes. In addition, you will be responsible for investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
The Department has implemented the use of vending machines for some consumables and you will liaise with suppliers, maintain stock control procedures, restock machines and arrange engineer visits, as required.

The successful candidate will be computer literate and have the ability to work flexibly and support the other team members. Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential as the role involves interacting with the wider department.
As the post requires a large amount of manual handling, applicants should be certain that they are able to cope with the physical demands of the post.
