UCC wishes to appoint a Lecturer in Process and Chemical Engineering. This post is funded through the generous support of Eli Lilly and Company. The Eli Lilly Lectureship in Process and Chemical Engineering, provides an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate with relevant experience to contribute to teaching and ongoing curriculum development of academic programmes, providing graduates with key skills to allow them to access exciting career opportunities in this area. The successful candidate will contribute to research in biopharmaceutical/biochemical or pharmaceutical engineering and support collaborations across the College of Science, Engineering and Food Science.

 The successful candidate will be expected to deliver research-led teaching and further develop existing and new teaching capacity in process and chemical engineering, including potentially in biopharmaceutical and/or pharmaceutical engineering. The successful candidate will be able to lecture on core and advanced aspects of the chemical engineering curriculum, have appropriate lecturing experience, and will be an excellent lecturer, willing to innovate and learn, engage in teaching and learning professional development.

The appointee will have a PhD in Chemical/Biochemical/Biopharmaceutical/Bioprocess Engineering or in an area relevant to biochemical/biopharmaceutical or pharmaceutical production.

The successful candidates will build on existing local industry connections and will help progress the development of collaborative links with Eli Lilly and across the industry.

Appointment may be made on the Lecturer Below the Bar Salary Scale, €35,248 - €61,984 (Scale B) or Lecturer Above the Bar Salary Scale, €67,743 - €87,732 (Scale B)

Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay policy.
