We seek to appoint 2 highly motivated, research-focused individuals as Lecturers in Algorithmic Optimisation/Data Science/Machine Learning in the Department of Computer Science, University of Liverpool. The successful candidates will undertake research of international standard and contribute to teaching modules and supervision of student projects in the department at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The appointments will be based on the proven research track record or industrial experience of the candidates. We value both theoretical, applied, and interdisciplinary research and research leading to economic and social impact outside academia. We are particularly interested in applicants with experience in one or more of the following:
Researchers with an excellent track record in other relevant areas will also be considered. We welcome applications from outside academia including those who would like to move to academic positions on a part-time basis while continuing working in industry. We welcome applications from all sectors of the community. This post is a full-time position but we recognise that many individuals value flexibility in their work/life balance and we will consider applications to work on a part-time, flexible and job share basis wherever possible (a minimum of 0.5 FTE). Please note that in terms of responsibilities and recognition, the position of a newly appointed lecturer in the UK is comparable to that of an assistant professor in the United States.
