The post

Peninsula Technology Assessment Group (PenTAG) wishes to recruit a Senior Research Fellow/Associate Professor/Associate Professor of Practice to lead health economic evaluation and modelling as part of health technology assessment projects; development and execution of operational research projects relevant to public health and health services; project management and leadership.

As a senior postholder in PenTAG, you will be responsible for leading HTA assignments from NICE and other stakeholders as an expert in methods for health economic evaluation and modelling.  This will include leading and managing multidisciplinary teams of systematic reviewers, epidemiologists, statisticians, health economists, information specialists and clinical experts in producing responsive, high-quality outputs under strict deadlines.  You will also have significant leadership and line management responsibilities in supporting a team of health economists and medical statisticians.  This will include training and development of staff to support career progression through publications and grant capture. You will have a key role to play in joining and developing grants and publications relating to HTA across a range of topics, both clinically oriented and public health-oriented.

About you

Applicants will be able to contribute to the development of research strategies; participate in the overall management of the College in areas such as strategic planning, budget management and business planning; plan and deliver research, consultancy or similar programmes and actively seek and secure research funding.

The successful applicant will possess a relevant PhD or equivalent qualification/experience in a related field of study and will be a nationally recognised authority in the area of HTA, and possess in-depth understanding to enable the development of new knowledge and understanding within the field. In addition, the successful applicant will provide academic leadership to research teams, lead and develop internal and external networks and develop links with external contacts in order to foster collaboration and generate income.

At senior research fellow level, you will have a national reputation in the field of health economics as relevant to HTA.  At associate professor level, you will have a developing international reputation in this field; as associate professor of practice, you may come from an industry background in a field relevant to HTA, such as an HEOR department in consultancy or the pharmaceutical industry.
