An exciting opportunity for two Research Assistants to work on a research programme looking at anxiety during pregnancy and after birth and the impact on women and their families. The project is funded by the National Institute of Health Research and consists of a longitudinal quantitative study, medical record study and qualitative interviews with women and health professionals.
Posts are based in the Centre for Maternal and Child Health Research in the School of Health Sciences at City, University of London. Successful candidates will work closely with the lead investigators Prof Susan Ayers, Dr Rose Coates and the research team in England and Scotland.
The posts involve conducting quantitative and qualitative research. This includes preparing study materials and documents, data collection, data entry, management and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data. The post holders will also be expected to contribute to the preparation of manuscripts for publication, dissemination of findings and other research and scholarship activities, such as evidence reviews and research grant applications.
Candidates will need an undergraduate and postgraduate degree in a relevant subject e.g. psychology, midwifery or a health-related discipline. Experience of: setting up, conducting and analyzing quantitative and qualitative research; working in collaborative multidisciplinary teams. Good administrative and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Candidates will need to have or complete Good Clinical Practice training at the beginning of the appointment.
