The College is looking to recruit graduates to join its Graduate Finance Trainee Scheme in 2022. The Graduate Finance Trainee Scheme is a three-year programme designed to provide the candidates with extensive finance experience and the opportunity to gain a professional accountancy qualification.
The Scheme consists of two different streams and candidates can decide which one they want to pursue when applying:
The ideal candidates will be bright, personable, self-starters with the drive to deliver excellence in Finance and support the College in achieving its academic mission. Previous Finance Trainees have successfully progressed to a wide range of roles across the College – discover their stories and find out more about the scheme on our website:
Duties and responsibilities
Graduate Finance Trainees can expect to gain both operational and project experience during their Traineeship. It is intended that during the course of the training scheme all trainees will develop the skills and experience necessary to apply for a permanent position at Imperial.
Trainees on the General Finance stream will be expected to complete their study for the CIMA qualification during their three years on the scheme and those on the Financial accounting stream for the ACA qualification. The College will meet the full cost of relevant training courses, exam fees, etc. (assuming first time passes). A generous study leave package is provided.
Salaries will escalate throughout the three years via a combination of annual pay increments and pay increases linked to exam success.
The training component of our Graduate Finance Trainee Scheme is funded by the apprenticeship levy and is fully aligned to the level 7 Accountancy or Taxation Professional apprenticeship standard. Please note that applicants should have the right to work in the UK and an eligible residency status (please refer to Education and Skills Funding Agency rules, Annex A, for further information).
Please note that applications must be completed on the official form. CVs will not be considered.
Once the application window has closed, applicants will be shortlisted and a small proportion of them will be invited for interview. We receive a very high number of applications every year, with around 200 applications for the last intake.
To make sure your application stands out, you need to demonstrate how you meet the essential requirements and provide reasons for which stream you wish to apply for (General Finance or Financial Accounting). You can be considered for both streams.
Screening calls and interviews for shortlisted applicants will take place in December/ January.
Should you require any further details on the role please contact: Nathalie Baker – email@example.com.

The starting salary will be £32,404 per annum. Salary progression will be dependent upon performance and exam success.
