We are seeking an outstanding academic with first class leadership skills, with an excellent track record to lead the School of Biological Sciences. As a senior member of the University and a member of the College Leadership Team you will provide strategic direction, vision and leadership for the programmes delivered in the school. In this role, you will ensure delivery of teaching, paying particular attention to the promotion of a research led, high quality student experience. You will oversee all quality assurance and enhancement processes through the development of a framework for continuous improvement, and maintaining and enhancing links with key external stakeholders. Heads of School are academic leaders in their disciplines and work with their Head of College and other members of the College Leadership Team to deliver University strategic objectives. Headship offers the opportunity to play a transformative role in the future direction of your discipline and the school, college and university as well as furthering your leadership skills.
Working closely with the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Head of the College of Life Sciences and Dean of Medicine you will represent and promote the School, College and University to enable the right environment for us to be at the forefront of global leading research and innovative enterprise whilst attracting students and providing them with an excellent student experience.
