We are the University of Cumbria, a place where people are at the heart of all we do, where enriching the lives of our students, staff and the communities we serve means we make a difference that really matters.

Now is a very exciting time to be joining us because we are delivering a new strategic plan focused on making the most of our three most valuable assets; People, Place and Partnerships, to become a catalyst for economic well-being for our region, nationally and internationally.

We are seeking innovative, creative, high-quality researchers, and scholars to foster a culture of exploration, discovery and intellectual challenge that generates international recognition, respect and engagement.

Working in partnership with local NHS trusts, health and social care providers, service users and carers; our Institute of Health provides initial pre-registration education for a broad range of health care professionals, including occupational therapy, diagnostic radiography, sports rehabilitation and coaching, midwifery, physiotherapy, social work, children and families, psychology, paramedic, counselling, all four fields of nursing, assistant practitioner and nursing associate.  Our well-established portfolio of continuing professional development is key to workforce development and upskilling of staff who are employed within the sector.  Our aim is to support the skills requirements of the region, by attracting and retaining health professionals who will provide high quality, evidence-based care in a time of change in health and social care. The Institute of Health is happy to consider flexible employment opportunities, including job share and secondments.

As a Lecturer in Occupational Therapy, you will contribute to occupational therapy specific and generic modules across all of the occupational therapy, rehabilitation and health programmes.  Other responsibilities will involve student support, module delivery and leadership, practice learning working with practice partners, personal tutor duties and other academic lecturer roles.  This is exciting opportunity for an HCPC registered occupational therapist who has experience of teaching or anyone wishing to begin a career in academia who brings with them contemporary knowledge from practice.
