The Department of Architecture, within the Faculty of Architecture and History of Art wishes to appoint a full time, permanent Assistant Professor (formerly known as University lecturer) in Materials Science and Studio Teaching. The position has an expected start date of 1 March 2022.

The purpose of the posts is to teach both on the three-year undergraduate BA (Architecture Tripos) course, which leads to RIBA/ARB Part I qualification; and the new four-year Master of Design Tripos which combines architecture, structural engineering, and materials science in an innovative new course in sustainable interdisciplinary design.

Candidates will be expected to be engaged in high-level research, to publish in their specialist field, to seek opportunities to win external funding for their research, to teach and examine undergraduates, and to supervise and examine MPhil and PhD postgraduate work.

It is expected that candidates will have a good first degree or equivalent in Architecture, Engineering or Materials Science as appropriate and a doctorate in the relevant field. Candidates must have taught architecture students or design studios and have experience in running teaching workshops.
