Lecturer - Academic Development in the Department of University Teaching Academy
Are you passionate about developing others? Do you have experience of supporting the development of new educational approaches and the professional development of those teaching and supporting learning?
The University Teaching Academy at Manchester Metropolitan supports the delivery of our education strategy through its provision of development programmes for university staff and its leadership of strategic cross-institutional projects to enhance the experience and success of our students.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about improving student outcomes through supporting the development of our teaching and learning support approaches and communities. You will have experience of planning and offering professional development support in relation to teaching, assessment and/or curriculum design to academic staff, and the ability to apply your passion and enthusiasm to the development of others.
A focus of this role is to further develop Manchester Met's approach to, and support for personal tutoring, aligned with our underpinning student focus on course, community and career. You will teach on our PGCert and/or MA in Higher Education, and will work with academics, course teams, faculty education leads and a range of other stakeholders to support the development of academic practice at Manchester Met. Additionally, you will contribute to the wider work of the University Teaching Academy, including leading and contributing to projects and initiatives aligned with our Education Strategy. There will also be opportunities for scholarly activity in the team's existing areas of specialism.
If you would like an informal discussion about the post, please contact Dr Stephen Powell, Acting Head of the University Teaching Academy (please email email@example.com to arrange for a call).
