Feminist Art Making Histories: AHRC/IRC Digital Humanities Grant

To support the Principle Investigators and Co-Investigators in designing, planning and implementing the following: i) conducting research at the intersection of the area of feminist art history, oral history and digital humanities; ii) developing appropriate DH methods for the project; iii) designing and planning the data collection methods and processes, and overseeing and undertaking data management and storage; iv) undertaking primary data collection through undertaking oral histories and related digital collection; v) the permanent storage of material; vi) analysing and publishing findings, both independently and in collaboration with the team.

Duties

Reporting initially to the Irish Principle Investigator Dr Tina Kinsella (IADT), the successful candidate will be responsible for a range of duties to include:

  • To support data management for this digital humanities project, including design of the work flow; implementing the work flow for data management from data capture in the field, securing, processing, backing up, storing, and preparing a handing over to the permanent hosts for the data (Irish Digital Repository).
  • To ensure compliance with IADT, UKRI, IRC, and GDPR data management requirements and with all other ethical requirements.
  • To carry out interviews with participants (singly or in groups) if and when appropriate.
  • To publish analysis of the research undertaken in print and at conferences, independently and in collaboration with the team.
  • Be a full and equal part of the team in developing the research project, its dissemination, and any parallel activities, including further grant applications.
  • Be the primary Liaison with Advisory Group Members, Project partners, and Research Participants.
  • Be responsible (with the RA at Loughborough) for conducting the day-to-day running of the project.
  • To formulate detailed plans for the project based on broad guidance from the project team.
  • With the RA at Loughborough, to feed back to the project team on progress, to make recommendations for next steps, providing regular progress reports and present outcomes to all Investigators, Partners and Collaborators.
  • Travel to attend meetings and make presentations both within the FAMH team, advisory group, and partners, and to external stakeholders.
  • To support the project team by enhancing relationships with existing collaborators and by assisting the establishment of relationships with new collaborators.
  • To contribute to project promotion and public engagement events.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times and ensure that intellectual property (IPR) agreements are not violated.
  • Engage in training programmes in IADT (or elsewhere) that are consistent with the needs and aspirations of the project and those of the Department.
  • Undertake other duties as may be reasonably requested and that are commensurate with the nature and grade of the post.
