This full-time post is available, on a fixed term basis, from 03/01/2022 until 30/09/2024.
The College wishes to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to participate in the ESM2025 project. The successful applicant will develop novel representations of terrestrial ecosystems response to elevated atmospheric CO2 with a specific focus on the role of nitrogen limitations.
The post will include development of process-level understanding of productivity response to elevated CO₂, implementation in the JULES land surface model, tests and evaluation at different scales..
The successful applicant will be able to develop research objectives, projects and proposals; identify sources of research funding and contribute to the process of securing funds and make presentations at conferences and other events.
Applicants will possess a relevant PhD or equivalent qualification/experience in a related field of study. The successful applicant will be a nationally recognised authority in ecosystem biogeochemistry and possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to develop research programmes and methodologies. The successful applicant will also be able to work collaboratively, supervise the work of others and act as team leader as required. Applicants will be able to develop and use large numerical models.
