The Learning Department at the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust has an international reputation for excellence. We pride ourselves on our longstanding relationship with schools, universities, and leisure learners around the world, engaging students of all ages at our sites in Stratford-upon-Avon and through our growing innovative digital courses and resources.
The Learning Department team is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Shakespeare Studies (Digital Education) with excellent teaching and interpersonal skills to create and deliver educational sessions online and onsite. A significant focus for this role will be upon the development of SBT’s digital learning content for Secondary School, University, and Leisure learners. It is expected that the successful candidate will devise and create educational digital content and projects collaboratively with colleagues and partners.
To be successful in this role you will have a passion for Shakespeare and experience of teaching in one or more of the levels listed above, and demonstrable experience in devising and delivering digital education. Candidates should have proven skills and experience in creating digital content and be confident users of a range of digital tools and platforms. To be successful in this role you will be able to facilitate and chair discussions (both online and onsite) with confidence, and adapt your delivery to different audiences. It is expected that the successful candidate will have a post-graduate qualification in Shakespeare or a related subject, and will be able to communicate effectively and enthusiastically, working as part of a team as well as independently. An awareness of current trends in digital learning is desirable.
