The “Materials and Manufacturing Education Training and Learning” (METaL) project is a Work Based Learning operation part funded by the European Social Fund through the Welsh Government.  The operation will develop and deliver a variety of university accredited modules to the workforce based in Wales. The project will provide training on Advanced Materials and Manufacturing which have a huge impact on day to day engineering and industrial processes and products. METaL will offer courses in key areas such as:

  • Introduction to Materials Engineering
  • Manufacturing Technology
  • CAD modelling
  • Metals processing
  • Corrosion protection and Coatings
  • Environmental issues
  • Practical metallurgy
  • Polymers and composites
  • Arc Welding … etc.

To support this project, Swansea University is seeking to appoint an eLearning Graphic Designer and Developer to support the project lecturers to convert existing classroom-based courses into eLearning courses. Reporting to the eLearning Manager, this role will conceptualise and design visually stimulating and interactive eLearning content and create engaging learning content layout designs. In addition, the eLearning Graphic Designer and Developer will assist in the design and development of multimedia assets including image manipulation, animation, audio and video for eLearning courses, website, and social media

Educated to degree level in graphic design or with equivalent relevant experience, the successful candidate should also be able to demonstrate relevant experience as a graphic designer and have knowledge of animation for video and web and multimedia graphic design. In addition, the successful candidate should be proficient in Adobe CC products or similar design tools and MS PowerPoint and other MS Office products.
