About the vacancy
UWE Bristol’s digital mission is to ensure that we harness the opportunities of the digital age in the delivery of a personalised experience that enables our students and staff to thrive, succeed and flourish. To support this, the Digital Experience Project (DXP) aims to deliver a new, consistent and inclusive student logged-in experience in the form of a presentation layer/user interface. This will act as a single point of entry from which students will be able to access all UWE systems and services in a clear and intuitive way.
To deliver this digital experience, we are looking for an experienced front-end web developer able to take a leading role in shaping our approach to delivering excellent front-end user experiences.
The project is using a User Centred Design approach to ensure it meets the needs of students, and an agile methodology to ensure that the product is continuously improved and value driven.
From a technical viewpoint, the aim is to deliver a future proofed architecture that is more responsive and more able to adopt new technologies and approaches, to better meet the user need and expectations. It will take a decoupled approach to remove the dependencies between back-end products and services and front end user experience.
You will act as senior member of the team responsible for the development of the new Digital Experience Platform working alongside other engineers, designers and stakeholders.
You will have experience working in an Agile software development team.
You are a motivated, effective team worker who is able to work independently and keen to continuously learn new technologies.
