Full Time, Fixed Term – Researcher

The Genetics of Ocular Development (Ragge) research group is looking for a second genetics research co-ordinator to join our multidisciplinary research team. We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills to join our expanding team studying the genetics of developmental eye conditions including anophthalmia (absent eye), microphthalmia (small eye) and coloboma (optic fissure closure defect).

The position is suitable for either a postdoctoral research assistant who is experienced in research co-ordination and clinical studies in relevant areas, or a nurse (preferably with a background in genetics) or genetics counselor with experience in research studies. The successful candidate will have an exciting opportunity to coordinate translational research identifying genes involved in developmental eye anomalies and support basic research into the function of these genes in eye and brain development.

This post will be based at the Headington campus of Oxford Brookes University, a friendly University that is committed to innovation in research and research excellence. The post is could either be full-time or part-time and is funded for 2 years (fixed term) at grade 9, although applications from less experienced candidates are welcomed and will be considered for appointment at grade 8.
