About the Role

This role will work under the QMLAC Directors and QMLAC Manager to coordinate QMLAC projects work and the 1-2-1 client appointment work at the QMLAC. The role will assist in the education and development of Law students engaging with the QMLAC, and where necessary will assist with running out of hours events, client appointments and student educational experiences.

About You

You will need a Qualifying Law Degree and knowledge and understanding of clinical legal education, public legal education and Street Law. You will have experience of managing several projects concurrently and of providing a high level of client care. Experience of working with volunteers would be an advantage.

About the School/Department/Institute/Project

The Department of Law established the Queen Mary Legal Advice Centre (QMLAC) in 2006 in order to widen our students’ experience and to enhance the Department’s work with the community at Mile End. Since then it has developed to encompass modules for students to undertake as part of their degree, and innovative community project to increase public legal education. The Legal Advice Centre aims to continue to be at the forefront of student led pro-bono work in Higher Education in the UK.

The post is based at the Mile End Campus in London. It is a full time, fixed term appointment for 2 years, with an expected start date of February 2022. The starting salary will be Grade 4, in the range of £34,733 - £40,797 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
