WMG is a vibrant, cutting-edge research institution at the University of Warwick, one of the world’s leading research and education groups with state-of-the-art technologies. WMG hosts one of the seven centres for the High Value Manufacturing Catapult (HVMC). Our Connectivity and Communications Technologies Laboratory https://warwick.ac.uk/fac/sci/wmg/research/cav/connectivity/cctfac is a primary capability that allows for delivery of a multitude of research and innovation activities funded from both key industrial partners and RCUK.
In order for this facility to maintain its position as being state-of-the-art and beyond, we are looking for a research driven, technically experienced and highly motivated candidate to deliver, and lead where needed, in the facilitation of the diverse range of activities planned until 2023. Of particular importance in the short term is the metrology of 5G SA systems that have relevance to Industrial Automation and Manufacturing Systems.
You will need to demonstrate knowledge of, and experience in, the metrology of wireless communications with a focus on the principal components 5G/6G systems through a strong publication record. You will need to have proven knowledge and awareness of the underlying state-of-the-art technology, standards, and methods, and be able to contribute to future avenues for 5G and beyond deployment within a factory environment.
The facility (https://warwick.ac.uk/fac/sci/wmg/research/cav/connectivity/cctfac) already houses advanced specialist equipment from leading suppliers and as such, it would be expected that the candidate has experience in using, deploying and/or conducting research based upon the provisions of leading providers such as Rohde & Schwarz, National Instruments and/or Spirent. Fundamental knowledge and experience of laboratory ‘etiquettes’ will be explored at interview.
