Duties and Responsibilities

The Translational Research Group (TRG) within UCL Translational Research Office, facilitates the translation of UCL’s emerging research by providing practical support to UCL early career and established researchers, helping to develop a translational strategy of their ideas to de-risk projects and make them more attractive to translational funding and industry investment for NHS adoption.

Through interaction with PIs, the successful candidate will play a major role in structuring and managing the move from discovery to pre-clinical and clinical research and play a role in identifying collaborative interdisciplinary research opportunities. It is expected the post-holder will make a significant intellectual contribution to the TRO strategy by identifying translational opportunities and driving these along the translational pathway, particularly by contributing to applications for funds and project-managing successful awards.  

Key Requirements

The post-holder should be educated to post graduate degree level, or equivalent level of experience in translational science and successful progression of projects along a translational pathway (gained in industry, biotech or academia).

Additionally, the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team with excellent interpersonal skills is required, with a proven track record of influencing colleagues through credible debate and the provision of effective support.
