This is an exciting opportunity to join Manchester Metropolitan Institute of Sport to work on a research project funded by The Waterloo Foundation. In this project, we will measure brain-muscle communication using EEG and EMG to assess corticomuscular connectivity (CMC) in children with and without Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD/Dyspraxia). We will also examine if occupational therapy can improve CMC in a similar manner shown in research in other movement-impaired populations.

Together with the project team, the successful candidate will recruit participants, collect EEG and EMG data using our established protocol, assess motor skill performance, monitor adherence to the intervention, analyse data, and contribute to the dissemination of the research findings.

The duration of this role is 12 months with an expected start date of 1st March 2021.

For an informal discussion regarding the requirements of the role, please contact Dr Greg Wood (greg.wood@mmu.ac.uk). To apply, please submit your CV along with a covering letter indicating how you meet the essential and desirable criteria in the person specification through the submission portal.
