Cambridge's Centre for Teaching and Learning (CCTL) provides a sustained focus for investigating and enhancing education in one of the world's leading universities. This role is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team, working with the Head of CCTL developing the service and function. We seek a colleague to set strategic direction for advancing the education and development of Cambridge's postgraduate research (PGR) students, leading CCTL's team of researcher development specialists and fostering collaboration with CCTL's educational developers. You will design and contribute to PGR education & development programmes and initiatives, developing your own professional expertise and scholarship and playing an active and influential role in advancing the enhancement of PGR education & development across Cambridge and through national and international networks. 

You will have relevant and current knowledge of researcher development and interest in doctoral pedagogies and practice within higher education. A doctoral-level qualification or equivalent professional experience is essential, and you may have a postgraduate qualification in teaching and learning in higher education and / or Fellowship or Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy. Your experience will include designing and delivering teaching and / or high-quality personal, professional or leadership development in a higher education setting, as well as leading and motivating a diverse team of professional staff, managing budgets and prioritising a complex portfolio of team activities. Excellent interpersonal skills, including advocacy and negotiation, will enable you to develop effective working relationships with individuals and teams at a range of levels across the University and the sector. You will have excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write research-informed reports and cases for new initiatives. Methodical and well organised, and responding positively to change, you will be able to plan ahead, work under pressure and to competing deadlines.
