UWE Bristol are one of the largest universities in the South West and one of the largest employers in the Bristol region. We currently have an opportunity for a Placements Manager to join our Professional Practice Office.
We have increasing numbers of healthcare and education students entering its programmes who require placements as part of their programme. The Team works closely with UWE Bristol's external partners supporting these professional practice placements in health and education settings. The team also have a strong relationship with academic colleagues to ensure that placement operations and student administration runs smoothly.
About the role
Reporting to the Deputy Head of Student Administration, you will work with university faculty, service and partner colleagues to review, develop and support new and existing placements. As required, you will provide training on university processes, procedures, policies and regulations. Where necessary you will take part in the design and implementation of new procedures and systems.
You will be responsible for ensuring the placement calendars and operational agreements with partners are in place and updated. A key part of the role is to negotiate and agree deadlines for operational delivery; building effective working relationships with colleagues to ensure this works. You will take a proactive, pragmatic, solution focused approach to addressing and resolving any operational issues that may arise. You will have oversight of the Professional Practice Office team ensuring that objectives are met.
