About our team

Information Governance is a professional service division within the Governance and Legal Services Directorate.

Working collaboratively with colleagues within the Directorate and across the University to support the University’s mission and contribute to its strategic priorities, we promote effective information governance to support University business worldwide and manage information risk to meet relevant legal, regulatory and audit requirements.

This is a fixed term role for 3 years. This role will provide additional data protection and information governance capacity to support the University during an exciting period of digital transformation and ensure that we keep pace with the continually evolving privacy laws that apply to the global University.

Detailed description

The role holder will provide specialist data protection and information governance advice and expertise to enable the University to comply with relevant privacy laws in all the jurisdictions in which we operate while optimising the use of information and data to support our mission. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Information Governance and Data Protection Officer (HIG&DPO) and work closely with the Information Governance Officer, Records Managers and Senior Administrators.

Education, qualifications and experience essential

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level with a postgraduate/professional qualification in information governance, including a strong focus on data protection, or substantial relevant experience as an information governance practitioner able to evidence in-depth data protection knowledge and expertise at a professional level.
