The School of Life Sciences seeks to appoint a full time Assistant Lecturer/Lecturer in Sport Psychology to contribute to the provision of high-quality teaching and research within the School. You will join our highly regarded and established team of academics, delivering on our portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in our modern facilities at the main Coventry University campus.
For this position, the School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Sport Psychologist to undertake core teaching, labs, assessments and supporting recruitment activities mainly within the BSc Sport and Exercise Science and MSc Sport Psychology programmes. The teaching content will cover topics of theoretical principles, current issues, and concepts within the field of Sport and Exercise Psychology.
You will need to share our passion for delivering a positive student experience that puts excellence in teaching and learning at the heart of everything we do and will be able to demonstrate significant knowledge in your area of specialisation. You will be expected to support the design and delivery of teaching that is engaging, innovative and responsive that achieves excellent student learning outcomes.
Applicants must have a relevant Master’s degree or a PhD in an appropriate subject. Experience of working in an applied setting (i.e., professional practice/consultancy) along with current or working towards relevant professional accreditation will be advantageous.
Previous experience of teaching within a Higher Education Institution is desirable but not essential. Coventry University offers academic support and professional development support and provides the opportunity for staff without a recognised teaching qualification to undertake the PGCE.
