Module description

This new qualification has been designed to meet the NMC (2018) Future nurse: Standards of proficiency for registered nurses. Following approval from the NMC in 2020, the OU offers provision to students to study in all four fields of practice – adult, children and young people, learning disabilities and mental health - with students on 3 or 4 year routes. All the modules are worth 60 credits, with 120 credits occurring at each level of the programme. As with previous nursing qualifications, we have embraced the use of the core school module K*102 Introducing health and social care at level 1 before getting into the specific requirements for nursing. EBL is built into the theory modules as our core teaching and learning strategy and tutors will be expected to use the vignettes, scenarios and learning material to support and facilitate student learning. The MT is managed by and reports to the Staff Tutor, Nursing who is the first point of contact for dealing with any matter related to concerns affecting students’ learning and progression
