About the role

We are seeking to appoint a new Senior Lecturer to lead on the identification & development of placement opportunities and supervision within a BABCP accredited CBT pathway within the existing Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.

You will have responsibility for the development, management and monitoring of the clinical elements of a CBT training pathway on the DClin Programme that will meet the requirements for BABCP level 2 accreditation within the programme and related implementation interface with services and key stakeholders. You will have responsibility for the associated operational administration, curriculum development, and quality management and enhancement (including supporting the accreditation for accreditation by the BABCP). You will work with the Clinical Director, CBT convenor and Academic CBT pathway Lead to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of teaching programmes in accord with the College’s education strategy and implementing the External Affairs strategy. You will also contribute directly to teaching in one or more of the disciplinary areas in the programme and across the DClinPGR Portfolio of programmes where appropriate and to the development and implementation of innovative teaching practices across these.  The Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Exeter already has a developed programme of CBT teaching.  The post holder would be supported by the Clinical Director, the CBT convenor, a CBT Senior Academic Tutor and the Deputy Programme Director.

About you

For a Senior Lecturer post you will:

  • Possess a depth or breadth of specialist knowledge demonstrated by a doctorate level training in Clinical Psychology / or experience of working with and supervising and teaching others as a fully qualified and accredited Cognitive Behavioural Practitioner.. 
  • Possess a good honours degree in Psychology or a related discipline (at least a 2:1 or equivalent)
  • Have a consistent track record of excellent teaching across a variety of modules and levels within your discipline as might be expected of a very experienced HE Teacher.
  • Contribute to the design, development and delivery a range of modules or programmes at various levels; applying innovative and appropriate teaching techniques; identifying sources of funding and securing funds for own scholarly activities and providing academic leadership to those working within programme areas.
  • Be expected to work towards Principal Fellow of the HEA and to attend formal CPD relating to this.
