The Department of Classics and Ancient History is looking for a Project Administrator who will be responsible for the management of the EU Advanced Grant Horizon-2020 project: RACOM ‘Rome and the Coinages of the Mediterranean: 200 BCE to 64 CE’ (https://warwick.ac.uk/fac/arts/classics/research/dept_projects/racom/). The project brings together academics with expertise in ancient coinage, archaeometallurgy and condensed matter studies at three UK institutions, with the University of Warwick as lead institution. The project is led by Prof. Kevin Butcher (Classics and Ancient History) and has been running since 1 September 2019 and will continue until 31 August 2024. The other institutions involved are the University of Liverpool and the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory.

The project has an international advisory panel that will meet annually, and activities include two conferences (one organised through Liverpool, and one organised through Warwick to be held in Rome), and regular meetings of the research team. They also include sampling trips to museums in the UK and abroad.

The post holder will be required to link with Brussels and the project partners across the three collaborating institutions and take a lead on the management and coordination aspects. You will have the ability to interact appropriately with a wide range of people both internal and external, from Academic and Professional Services, and across all levels. You will arrange the annual meetings of the international advisory panel of the project, project-related travel, and assist with the conferences.

You will need to be able to adapt quickly and professionally, to prioritise effectively, to process and interpret complex information, to have excellent written and verbal communication skills, to demonstrate outstanding attention to detail and to be able to cope well with conflicting demands. In delivering this role efficiently and effectively, you will be expected to exercise judgement and to use initiative in being proactive. This will require a strong ability to organise, influence and cater well for a wide variety of work.

Full details of the duties and selection criteria for this role can be found in the vacancy advert on the University of Warwick's jobs pages. You will be routed to this when you click on the Apply button.
