Full time, fixed term position until 31 September 2024.

This role is the equivalent of a Senior Research Fellow.

You will undertake research on the SiCSat Project to assist the Principal Investigator and project partners in the successful execution of the project. You will undertake independent and collaborative research and will be expected to write up your research for publication. You will be expected to deal with any management/administration problems that may arise from the project and produce and present regular project reports ensuring that the project objectives and deadlines are met.

This post is based at the University of Warwick, using our dedicated SiC cleanroom in Engineering.

As a Assistant Professor (Research) you will be expected to demonstrate a proven ability and major achievements in research. Sufficient breadth or depth of specialist knowledge in the discipline and of research methods and techniques to work within established research programmes is essential.

You will have an excellent knowledge of SiC Power Electronics, including fabrication and characterisation and prior experience working in a semiconductor cleanroom. You must have a strong record of publications and research outputs in the SiC Power Electronics field and the ability to contribute to the development of funding proposals.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing is required, along with the strong skills in technical documentation creation, report writing and presentations in styles ccessible to both academic and policy audiences.

The ability to work collaboratively and effectively with academic and administrative colleagues, including those external to the University, to promote and contribute towards a collegial environment is required, and understanding of equal opportunity issues as they may impact on areas of research content must be demonstrated.
