We seek a motivated individual to join a project that is charting exciting new software engineering and programming techniques for building distributed applications of autonomous parties, e.g., business processes in e-commerce, health, finance, and smart cities. The project is broad in scope, ranging over techniques for programming applications that can work in a variety of environments, including the Web, IoT-based, cloud, and distributed ledgers. Programming models and tools that other programmers can use to simplify the construction of reliable, scalable, and high performance distributed applications is a major thrust of the project.
The candidate will undertake the (1) construction and evaluation of software prototypes and (2) writing research papers and disseminating results.
A background in computer science is essential. Please see Job Description and the detailed Person Specification for this position.
You will join us on an indefinite contract; however, the role remains contingent on external funding, which at this time is due to come to an end on 6th September 2022.
For more information, please contact Dr Amit K. Chopra (email@example.com). Candidates are encouraged to look at some of Dr Chopra’s recent publications to get an idea of the kinds of themes involved in the project.
We are committed to family-friendly and flexible working policies on an individual basis, as well as the Athena SWAN Charter, which recognises and celebrates good employment practice undertaken to address gender equality in higher education and research.
