The University of Warwick is now Aziz Foundation’s preferred partners since 2021, having demonstrated its commitment in widening participation, particularly at postgraduate level. The institution has developed a ‘life-cycle approach’ in which it seeks to support students from the beginning of their journey, with their recruitment into undergraduate programmes, through their studies, and beyond, into employment or further study.
Aziz Foundation has offered several internship and apprenticeship opportunities, open to their scholars and the wider public, in their interest areas, and continues to source these. To aid with professional development, The Aziz Foundation also offers mentors to all of their scholars, from highly decorated backgrounds with a range of experiences, offering support in professional development.
In the last three cycles of scholarships alone, they’ve supported 400 British Muslim students with Masters scholarships. These are offered to British Muslims who they think will use that qualification to bring that positive change, either through facilitating better representation and contribution of Muslims to civil society to combat Islamophobia and positively transform perceptions of British Muslims, or by being successful in their fields and raising the aspirations and standards within British Muslim communities.
Last year The Aziz Foundation focused their scholarship offerings in the areas of Law, Policy, and Media and Journalism, and this year they have added Tech, Sustainability, and Creative Content, in recognition of these areas as rapidly growing industries, and sectors where British Muslims could both raise aspirations and through which they could positively contribute to British society, transform perceptions of Muslim communities.
Eligibility: Masters level applicants who must be from the British Muslim Community and have Home fee status.
Value: Full fee waiver for one year.
Deadline: 11 July 2022
