Nottingham University Business School is an international leader in finance and management education and a pioneer in entrepreneurship, innovation and sustainability. Part of the Business School, the Centre for Private Equity and Management Buyout Research (CMBOR) has a renowned track record for its interdisciplinary research and the impact of that research. CMBOR, which is sponsored by Equistone Partners Europe, collects data on private equity investment and buyouts. The CMBOR database is a unique data set of about 48,000 ‘private equity backed ‘buyout investments in Europe. The database is used to provide unique and bespoke intelligence on private equity investments to the media and industry practitioners. CMBOR has an unrivalled reputation in producing aggregated market data and industry analysis. A wide network of academics uses the database for publication in prestigious academic journals.
The Business School is recruiting two part-time Senior Operations Officers, to provide administrative support for CMBOR activities, to include the management of the database. Under the direction of the Centre Director, the role holders will develop knowledge and skills to enable them to identify relevant information from primary sources (websites and business media) and add this to the CMBOR database, as well as liaising with clients regarding the data.
The role will demand the development and application of specialist knowledge and involve proactively planning and coordinating activity. You will work with limited direct supervision and therefore be required to use your own initiative, take personal responsibility, think analytically and creatively to solve problems and use excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain relationships and work collaboratively with external companies, academic staff and professional services colleagues across the Faculty and in Central Departments to deliver innovative, high quality and compliant services and support. In addition, you will need excellent interpersonal skills, be able to work well in a team, be highly organised, flexible and able to thrive in a fast-paced, varied environment. As someone who is self-motivated and has experience of contributing to projects and improving processes, you will help drive forward change and deliver excellent service.
Our success is delivered by our people. We believe that a diverse and supportive environment, bringing different perspectives to our work and allowing people to thrive, is the best platform for cutting-edge research and excellent teaching and operational support. We are seeking individuals from the widest possible range of talents and backgrounds, and we will appoint not just based on past achievements, but also on your potential for the future.
The two posts are available on a fixed term contract until 31 March 2024. Hours of work are part- time (18 hours per week).
