The Department of Psychology offers a vibrant & supportive academic community with an excellent teaching environment & opportunities for professional development for staff. Consistent feedback suggests that we are a warm & collegiate Department committed to equality, diversity and reducing ‘awarding gaps’ that exist in HE. We provide an exceptional educational experience for all of our students stemming from a research/practice- informed teaching ethos, highly effective and supportive personal tutoring across UG & PGT courses, and work placement opportunities for all UG students. We consistently achieve excellent progression rates and low withdrawal rates across our UG & PGT courses. In short, we offer an incredibly rewarding place to work.
Our Department comprises four research centres/groups; the Quality of Life, Health & Well-Being Research Group, the Centre for Interaction, Development & Diversity, the Centre for Comparative & Evolutionary Psychology, and the International Centre for Research in Forensic Psychology. Our facilities include EEG, eye tracking & psychophysiology labs, virtual reality & motion detection labs, interviewing suites & a baby/infant lab.
