The School of Health and Social Wellbeing is situated in the Faculty of Health and Applied Sciences at UWE, Bristol. The changing shape of contemporary health and social care requires a workforce that can work across boundaries, requiring the HEI sector to evolve to meet the needs of partners and employers in creating an agile workforce. The Portfolio Lead for Practice Learning will work across the School holding a key leadership role as part of the School’s Executive team contributing to the development of the School’s values and positive culture. You will contribute to the development and delivery of the School’s Practice Learning Strategy. As part of this you will work closely with programme teams and across the executive to support and enhance practice learning. You will also lead and contribute to a range of projects which relate to practice learning.
The key professional qualifications; knowledge; skills and experience we require to enable you to be successful in this role include: current registration with a health and social care professional body; a Master’s degree; significant experience of academic leadership within a higher education institution; effective leadership and interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop excellent working relationships; motivate teams, and working with people and as part of a team to facilitate and encourage a high level of performance; a commitment to quality enhancement to deliver a high level of service; a good level of knowledge and understanding of the issues and demands facing the sector, University, Faculty and School, as well as a commitment to enhance the University’s widening participation, equality and social inclusion agendas.
